Guillemots first entered our world with the video for “Trains to Brazil” in 2006 from EP From The Cliffs and LP Through The Windowpane. MTV2. Vintage shit. Anyway, Fyfe Dangerfield and the gang announced earlier this year that they are releasing four albums this year, each one representing a season.
From Guillemots Official Website:
“We decided last year we didn’t really want to make another record in the traditional cycle where you record an album, sit on it for months as a press campaign builds up to its release, and then tour it for months afterwards. It feels way more exciting to makle as much music as we can, put it out as soon as it’s ready, and let people gradually find out about it all through the year. So this is what we’re doing! ”
If you missed the first LP by the Guillemots (its okay!) this year, it is called Hello Land! and features this dynamite song we have posted below titled, “Up On The Ride.” Now, I realize it is August and only one album has come out by the Guillemots this year, but fuck it. I’m an optimist.
Stay tuned as I am sure we will have more on Guillemots sooner than later.
